Charlotte was an incredible place to start my career — the people, the industry, and the city itself shaped me in ways I’ll always be grateful for.
So, it was a great pleasure to bring our national championship event to the Queen City – about 90% of the event’s 665 teams came from outside the Carolinas, generating over 23,000 hotel room nights.
After over 30 years in the Orlando area, the move to Charlotte seemed like a big step. But the real test was when our 10,600 youth athletes stepped up to compete.
From the quality fields and festival-like atmosphere at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex to the first-rate production and intimate setting at Charlotte Convention Center, the event produced an energetic and unforgettable experience.
We had upwards of 45,000 people come through the gates for our four events: The Pop Warner Super Bowl and Cheer & Dance Nationals, as well as the new Queen City Crown Open and our inaugural Crown Classic flag football tournament.
A h/t to Visit Charlotte, Florida Citrus Sports, Stack Sports and RCX for the operational support on an exciting national championship week.
