Youth sports don’t happen without officials — yet across the country, referee shortages are forcing schedule changes and thinning crews just as participation continues to grow.
And high school football? With fewer officials, games are being moved to different days — and the tradition of Friday Night Lights may start to fade in some communities. Our Respect the Refs initiative celebrates, defends, and recruits the men and women who make every game possible.
